Pregnancy typically lasts for approximately 40 weeks, divided into three trimesters. The first trimester spans weeks 1-12, marked by early development of the fetus and common pregnancy symptoms. The second trimester, weeks 13-27, sees further fetal growth, reduced discomfort for many women, and the first sensations of fetal movement. The third trimester, weeks 28-40, involves significant fetal development, increased physical changes for the mother, and final preparations for childbirth. The culmination of this transformative journey is the birth of a baby after around 9 months of gestation.
