Vijayapura
Vijayapura, formerly known as Bijapur was established in the 10th-11th centuries by the Kalyani Chalukyas. On November 1, 2014, the central government granted the proposal to change the city's name from Bijapur to Vijayapura. It is renowned for the historically significant buildings that were constructed during the Adil Shahi reign. One of India's best-known heritage cities, Vijayapura, is situated in the state of Karnataka. Mohammed Adil Shah's tomb, Gol Gumbaz, is one of Vijayapura’ s most recognizable features.
