Microsoft's official Minecraft: Education Edition will begin its life in an early access program (kind of like how the original game did) in June. This is to give educators an opportunity to play the building game's blocks during summer break, so they can evaluate how it works with their curriculum and provide feedback. This will aid in the creation of lesson plans. The folks from Redmond have a few currently available, including the Temple of Artemis, Pyramids of Giza or Anderson Shelters, which were used to shield from bombs during World War II. The app will be free on both Windows and OS X within a few months. However it is a beta version, with around 100 schools from 30 different countries will be launched in May.
