In recent times, we have seen the emergence of videogames which include, as their primary game mode creating in-game content. Even though there is a literature that has explored the different aspects of these games, one of the aspects that merits further study is the ways in which monetisation strategies can emerge in their context. Through our ongoing ethnographic research, we became aware of an active market for commissions within the Minecraft community of creators. Our findings highlight the three principal players in this market: the clients, who have their own Minecraft servers as well as the contractors who manage the clients' orders of Minecraft maps and the builders who are responsible for the creation of said maps.
