Since 1.14 Village and Pillage, villages in Minecraft have been completely changed. The entire trading system, the item economy, and the jobs that each villager does is completely revamped. This is a complete guide to managing your villager's trades and the villager. At the end of this you'll know how to get the items you require. Let's begin! How Many Villager Jobs Are There In Minecraft? There are currently 15 villager positions in Minecraft. This is a list of the various jobs villagers could be employed in. You can put the job block that corresponds to the job you're looking for next to the Unemployed Villager if you want to apply for an employment. The job assigned to the villager will decide what kind of trades they'll offer. You can take away a villager's job block when you don't have an unemployed villager. If you're not able to acquire the desired trades from a villager you can take away the job block and place it back in place to load their trades. Minecraft has a variety of villagers Armorer - Offers armor and even Chainmail. Blast Furnace Butcher is a job block that offers emeralds as well as cooked meat. Job Block: Smoker Cartographer offers maps and banner Paterns. Job Block: Cartography Table Cleric - Offers magic items and even Bottle o’ Enchanting. Stonecutter - Job Block Nitwit is a complete waste of time. It's basically useless. Job Block N/A Shepherd - Offers various colored wools and paintings. Job BLock Loom Loom Toolsmith - Provides tools of different quality, and even magical! Job Block: Smithing Table Unemployed - Offers no job however, but is able to be hired. Job Block: N/A Weaponsmith - Sells iron and Diamond Swords/Axes, even enchanted! Job Block: Grindstone Villager Appearance: Not only do villager's jobs change depending on their profession and their appearance, but they also have to be different in every biome. To ensure that each job is distinct, they maintain certain characteristics that pertain to their profession. All farmers will wear straw hats, and all Librarians will wear glasses. Trading Stock: As of 1.14, Mojang has introduced the delightful concept of 'Supply and Demand. This basically means that if you execute a specific trade too many times, not only will the villager run out of inventory in that particular item however, prices (amount of items/emeralds you need to exchange) will also increase when the item is traded for frequently. Trades can be completed up to four times before stock is exhausted. Villagers will replenish their stock once a day. The cost of an item will decrease in the event that it isn't traded. Unlocking Trades: Both players and villager gain experience when they trade. The next level of trades is available when the villager's level increases. Each villager is granted 5 levels of trades which unlock gradually higher quality items. chit chat chit chat is indicated by a colored badge on their clothing, which ranges from Novice(Stone), Apprentice(Iron), Journeyman(Gold), Expert(Emerald) all the way to Master(Diamond). Wandering Trader This is a bit different however, there is a single villager who acts nothing like the other villager. The Wandering Trader is a passive mob, like normal Villagers, however it appears randomly across the world with no pattern whatsoever. It has two trading lamas with leash which are similar to normal llamas with a cosmetic alteration. Another unique feature of this Villager is its lack of trading levels. This means that the trades you've rolled with him will be yours forever. But don't fret, as his trades will reset when he spawns again. The trades of the Wandering Trader are often obscure and difficult to locate. Although they aren't particularly powerful or impressive, they are still valuable. Be quick, because the Wandering Trader will despawn after 40-60 minutes. Popularity: You have a level in the popularity of a player. This is diminished by negative actions such as attacking villagers and gaining popularity by trading more often or curing zombie villager. Negative actions raise prices, while positive actions decrease them. Let's suppose that Illagers attack your village without warning. You happen to be in the vicinity and you can fend off the attack. You will be rewarded with the 'Hero of The Village' status effect, which will further reduce prices for trade (except for trades that cost 1 emerald.) These are the fundamentals of Villager jobs and the trading of villages. Now you should be able to manage that villager farm with ease! Mojang believes that it is necessary to tear the carpet beneath our feet frequently and, for better or worse, trading is a little more complex with Supply & Demand mechanics, along with the popularity function. You can use these features to assist you, or make trading a mess on your Minecraft server. I hope you find this guide useful. Good luck and I wish you the best!
