Description
Production Engineer Incorporating standard procedures
Job Description:
Our manufacturing facility's principal "Operations Execution Anchor" and "Shop Floor Throughput Guardian" is the production engineer. Your main responsibility is to run the factory's heartbeat, converting raw material inputs and engineering prints into completed, high-quality products at the appropriate volume, on the appropriate schedule, and within target cost budgets, while quality engineers concentrate on inspection limits and maintenance teams handle machine uptimes. This includes controlling material handoffs, balancing assembly line capacities, minimising cycle-time bottlenecks, planning shop floor labour deployments, and carrying out continuous improvement pathways.
Key Duties
Shift Planning & Production Execution: Manage day-to-day production activities on designated lines, efficiently assigning workforce teams to meet stringent shift goals while adhering to print specifications.
Line Balancing & Bottleneck Optimisation: To maximise throughput and reduce operator idle intervals, examine manufacturing cycle times, locate process bottlenecks, and modify line balance settings.
Reduction in Setup Time and Mastery of Changeover: Utilise Single-Minute Exchange of Die procedures to reduce asset downtime while driving quick mould, tool, or fixture changeover operations on the shop floor.
Work-in-Progress (WIP) Regulation and Material Coordination: Work with warehouse teams to guarantee lean material flow to workstations, avoiding lineside shortages while maintaining stringent limitations on WIP inventory.
Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement: Use lean techniques to reduce production waste, increase yield, and enhance overall equipment effectiveness.
We invite you to apply and explore this exciting opportunity!
