During 2024, the Indian Government launched an employment-centered flagship program called the Prime Minister’s Skilling and Employment Package. Employment in India is to be transformed under this package. The goal is to empower the country’s workforce-that is, its youth-with the requisite skill sets needed in a changing Indian economy.
This package develops employment and entrepreneurship through upgradation of skill, employment opportunities in manufacturing, and providing internship opportunities in diverse sectors. In this deal, the government seeks an ecosystem that will serve to sustain the employment itself over time, but fuel India’s economic growth and make India more competitive at the world level.
