Karnataka Folklore Museum
The Folklore museum is in the Jaya Lakshmi vilas mansion of the University of Mysore and 300 acres of land were obtained in 1956–1960 by kuvempu, the first Kannada writer to win the Jnanpith award when he was the vice chancellor of the university. The museum has a collection of nearly 6,500 items produced locally and gathered from all around Karnataka.
