Bekal Fort
Bekal Fort stands proudly as the largest and most renowned fortress in Kerala, situated in Bekal, Kasaragod district. This well-preserved fort was constructed nearly 300 years ago as a strategic defence stronghold against maritime invaders in the Malabar region. Shivappa Nayaka is credited with its construction around 1650, spanning about 40 acres.
