Job Description:
The main "Software Architecture Anchor" and "Data Automation Guardian" at each of our manufacturing plants is the Python Developer-Manufacturing & Industrial Engineering Systems (Software Solutions, API Integration & Data Automation Specialist). Your main responsibility is to design, develop, deploy, and maintain Python-based software applications, data pipelines, RESTful APIs, and automation scripts that drive our manufacturing ecosystem, while plant production engineers oversee actual shop-floor machinery and maintenance engineers ensure hardware dependability. This includes creating internal web dashboards (using Django/FastAPI/Flask), automating batch data processing, optimising machine learning/predictive maintenance models, integrating Industrial IoT (IIoT) edge systems, and connecting shop-floor Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and SCADA nodes to enterprise databases.

Key Skills:
Database Systems & ORMs: Extensive experience with time-series databases, relational databases (PostgreSQL/MySQL), and ORMs such as Django ORM or SQLAlchemy.
Industrial Protocol & Data Libraries: Practical experience utilising data processing libraries like Pandas, NumPy, and SciPy to connect to industrial endpoints via OPC-UA, MQTT, or Modbus.
DevOps, Containerisation & Git Version Control: Proficient in Linux administration, CI/CD pipelines, Docker containerisation, Git workflows, and cloud infrastructure (AWS/Azure/GCP).
