The glitz of the entertainment world usually wraps a red-carpet appeal into fame and world admiration, but there is little evidence that easy minds go with success or luxury. For the outsider, it’s a wonderland of talent being so adored and life simply perfect. Reality for many working within the industry speaks to much more. Under the sparkling surface, it is a harsh, lonely world of unique industrial pressures, intense scrutiny and mental health issues that only few outside the industry even understand.

In recent times, mental health issues from performers-actors and musicians to directors and crew-members are coming out into open more often. As more and more of the industry’s brighter stars come out publicly and share their private struggles, it is quite clear that this is an issue-and one which more research and scrutiny must be devoted.
