Established in 1936 as Hailey National Park and later renamed in honor of the legendary hunter-turned-conservationist Jim Corbett, the Corbett Tiger Reserve is a crown jewel of Indian wildlife tourism. Spanning over 500 square kilometers, the reserve is home to Bengal tigers, wild elephants, leopards, crocodiles, deer, and more than 600 species of birds.
