Job Description:
The main "Setup Execution Anchor" and "Process Stabilisation Specialist" on our precision machining shop floor is the CNC Setter-Manufacturing & Precision Machining Operations (Tooling Setup, Workholding Fixturing, First-Piece Prove-Out & Process Stabilisation Specialist). Your main responsibility is to set up CNC turning centers, vertical machining centers (VMCs), and multi-axis milling machines for new production batches loading part programs, installing cutting tools, aligning specialised fixtures, establishing work/tool offsets, and proving out first-piece components in accordance with engineering blueprints, while CNC programmers create G-code programs and machine operators carry out daily production runs.

Key Skills:
Advanced CNC Machine Setup & Controller Proficiency: Practical experience using Fanuc, Siemens, Haas, or Mazak control systems to set up CNC turning centers, VMCs, or 4/5-axis machines.
Deep technical understanding of cutting tool geometry, insert grade selection, presetting instruments, soft jaw boring, and precise fixture alignment employing dial indicators is required for tooling, fixturing, and geometry calibration.
Expertise in deciphering intricate mechanical drawings, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing symbols, and strict production tolerances is known as blueprint reading and GD&T literacy.
G-Code/M-Code Editing and Troubleshooting: During setup prove-outs, you can read, modify, and adjust program lines at the controller console.
