Who you are:
Use practice management (PM) software to accurately register, validate, and update patient demographic information (Name, DOB, Address, Social Security Number, Guarantor) and insurance policy details (Primary, Secondary, Tertiary payers, Policy/Group numbers, Copay/Deductible amounts). Ensure that all billable services, procedures, and supplies are fully recorded with no charges missing by posting professional and facility charges from encounter forms, superbills, electronic health records, and hospital logs. Apply the proper billing modifiers, check diagnosis-to-procedure links, and compare assigned CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS codes with medical data to ensure they are complete. For each charge entry, apply the appropriate taxonomy codes, place of service codes, rendering/billing provider NPI numbers, facility/non-facility pricing regulations, and contracted fee schedules.
