What Are the Early Signs of Liver Cancer Symptoms and Causes

Liver cancer symptoms often develop slowly and may not be noticeable in the early stages. However, as the disease progresses, certain signs of liver cancer begin to appear and should not be ignored. One of the most common liver cancer symptoms is persistent pain or discomfort in the upper right side of the abdomen. This pain may sometimes spread to the back or right shoulder. Unexplained weight loss and loss of appetite are also common signs of liver cancer. Many patients experience constant fatigue and weakness, even after adequate rest. Nausea, vomiting, and a feeling of fullness after eating small amounts of food can also be early liver cancer symptoms. Another important sign of liver cancer is jaundice, which causes yellowing of the skin and eyes. Dark urine and pale stools may accompany this condition. Swelling in the abdomen due to fluid buildup (ascites) is another noticeable symptom. In some cases, patients may develop an enlarged liver or spleen, which can be felt as a lump under the ribs.
