Dr Anupam Golash is a senior plastic surgeon with more than 30 years of experience in the field of Plastic & Reconstructive surgery, Cosmetic surgery and Hand surgery. He graduated from prestigious Medical College, Kolkata and after completing MS (General Surgery), he went to UK for higher surgical training. After completing FRCS(Edin) from Royal College of Surgeons, he underwent extensive training in Plastic and Hand surgery in various teaching institutes of UK for seven years at Leicester, Preston, Birmingham, and South Manchester University Hospitals. He was one of the first Indians to pass the prestigious FRCS(Plastic Surgery), an intercollegiate exit examination of all four Royal College of Surgeons of UK and was awarded a certificate of training in Plastic Surgery by Royal College of Surgeons. He had specialist training in Hand and Reconstructive Microsurgery and completed a 2 years Hand and Microsurgery fellowship of British Society for Surgery of Hands.
He returned to serve his motherland in 2000 and has worked tirelessly to become a pioneer in the field of Hand, Reconstructive Microsurgery and Cosmetic surgery in Kolkata and Eastern India.
Over past 30 years, as a Plastic and Hand surgeon, he has performed more than 50000 procedures which includes many firsts in Eastern India like replantation of fingers and hands, paediatric replantations, toe to hand transfers, brachial plexus surgeries and complex reconstructive microsurgical flaps. He has been helping patients with his expertise in cosmetic surgery, burns, post burn deformities, limb traumas, breast reconstruction, head and neck cancer reconstruction ,and congenital deformities of face and hands.
In addition to being one of the most experienced plastic and hand surgeon in Kolkata, Dr Golash is a true scholar. He has several publications in peer review journals and has written a chapter in prestigious Bailey and Love’s textbook of surgery.
