The Foreign Contribution Regulation Act (FCRA) is an Indian legislation that regulates the acceptance and utilization of foreign contributions by individuals, associations and ngos. It was enforced by the Ministry of Home Affairs and its primary objective was to make sure that the foreign funds are not spent on activities that are detrimental to the national interest. Fcra registration is required where organizations are interested in obtaining foreign contributions in the form of cultural, educational, religious or social purposes in India.
