The Supreme Court has been taking a tough stance on the bulldozer operation across the country, including in Uttar Pradesh. In Prayagraj, the houses of a lawyer, a professor and three women petitioners were demolished with bulldozers in 2021. While hearing the case, the Supreme Court on Tuesday said that the process of demolition of houses is unconstitutional. The court said that this arbitrary process of demolition of houses is also a callous violation of civil rights.
