Super Duplex Steel sheet is primarily used in applications requiring excellent corrosion resistance combined with high resistance to stress corrosion cracking. The high corrosion resistance and excellent mechanical properties of duplex stainless steels can be attributed to their chemical composition and balanced microstructure of approximately equal volume percentages of ferrite and austenite. This steel has been developed as an upgrade to standard austenitic stainless steel.
