Picramic Acid
Arcane Chemicals offersPicramic Acid, also known as 2-amino-4,6-dinitrophenol, as a raw material for use in various formulations. The purity of Picramic Acid is assessed at 60+2% based on titration method and the moisture content is around 40% assuring longevity of storage. The Picramic Acid content is less than 0.5%. The color is orange.
The main use of Picramic Acid is in the formulation of hair coloring when it is converted to Sodium Picramic, a non-reactive dye. Picramic Acid is also used to formulate henna to yield a deep rich red-brown color with long lasting properties. It is safe when used in the prescribed manner and in the prescribed percentage.
