A Goliath crane, alternatively referred to as a gantry crane, is an overhead crane that usually operates along a track or rail system positioned either on the ground or on an elevated structure. It comprises a bridge-like structure supported by legs or columns on both sides of the designated area. Goliath cranes find widespread use in outdoor settings such as shipyards, construction sites, and storage yards for the transportation of heavy loads across expansive areas.
