A minimally invasive endovascular treatment called carotid artery stenting (CAS) is used to treat carotid artery stenosis and avoid ischemic stroke. With a focus on imaging, embolic protection devices, and antiplatelet medication, this session describes patient selection, procedural stages, and post-procedure care. The safety, effectiveness, and long-term outcomes of recent research contrasting CAS with carotid endarterectomy are examined.
