A Mohali court dealt a significant blow to Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) leader Bikram Singh Majithia, ordering 14 days of judicial custody in a disproportionate assets case. The former Punjab minister, arrested on June 25, 2025, will be transferred to Nabha jail, with the next hearing scheduled for July 18. This follows an 11-day vigilance remand during which the Punjab Vigilance Bureau probed allegations of wealth amassed beyond Majithia’s known income sources.
