A dental bridge is a fixed dental restoration (a fixed dental prosthesis) used to replace a missing tooth (or several teeth) by joining an artificial tooth permanently to the adjacent teeth or dental implants. A bridge is fabricated by slightly reducing the surface of teeth on either side of the missing tooth and using them as a support to replace a missing tooth. As with crowns, bridges are also cemented with a special dental cement and are a fixed replacement.
