Dear Sir, As you are aware, the groundwater is depleting fast and water bodies are diminishing every year due to inappropriate use and low awareness amongst users. It has therefore become a civic responsibility to create awareness and educate people about the severe water crisis, which is lurking for the coming years. World Water Day is held annually, all over the planet, on 22 March as a means of focusing attention on the importance of freshwater and advocating for the sustainable management of freshwater resources. A group of NGOs and International organizations organized a Walkathon last year to raise awareness towards water conservation and this year, we are reaching out to more stakeholders in expanding this awareness raising campaign… and celebration of Water as Life ! The global theme of this year’s World Water Day is Linking water with Nutrition. Accordingly we have kept the key message as ‘Save Water, Safe Water and Protect Water’ and the following activities have been proposed: 1. A van, equipped with a sound system will disseminate the various messages, short films along with theatre plays and skits performed by artists and children will move around the city on 20-21 March in preparation of the 22nd March celebration. 2. Media will be invited to the event for the coverage of the event. 3. A short Walkathon will be organized (Walk will start from Dussehra ground, Bittan Market at 9.0 AM and end at Ankur School, 6 No. stop). 4. Bike expedition by Rovers from Bhrat Scouts and Guides from Sahaj Ganj to Bhopal and will join the Walkathon at Dussehra Ground, Bittan Market. 5. A signature campaign will be organized on the day of the event in support of the key message of the day. 6. Youth from NSS, Members from Panchayat Raj institutions and slums will also participate in the event. 7.
