All materials used on the hammer are not allowed to have a crack and defects like pore, cold shut that affect the performance of hammers. Sprue, riser, burr and flashing should be cleaned clearly. After the heat treatment, defects like crack and chipping should be avoided too. Connecting bolt of the hammer protected block must be fastened as well as the hard alloy on the hammer handle in case that they break or fall off in service. The hammer top and handle must be connected in metallurgy in order to avoid great losses caused by breakage or fracture. Metal casting is the best way for the striking face of hammers and they can be put into use only after quenching and tempering.

Besides, you still have the following tips to pay attention to:

1 Metallographic structure should be eutectic compounds +the secondary carbides + martensite+ residual austenite;

2. Alloy castings must go through water toughening and temperature is not lower than 1040 ℃. The Metallographic structure is austenite + carbide (micro);

3. Hammer handle should go through thermal refining, at least normalizing before use;

4. Forging part of the hammer must be quenched to use.
