OPlus had launched their smart phone some months ago for a very competitive price of Rs. 7999/-. Critics present at the XonPhone 5 launch event were impressed with they saw. The real test lies, however, in how well it fares in the market and with its users.
The design of the phone has been planned well as there are three very appealing colours of grey, gold and blue. The 8 MP camera with LED flash is placed on the back and the design on the back cover is also very elegant.
There is a very basic 5” display of IPS OGS and Full View. The chipset in this budget android can support HD video recording and playback. There are only three navigation buttons present here.
The sound on the back is average but audible; you have a 3.5 mm earphone jack. There are four sensors but the GPS seems to be much stronger and works faster when you are outdoors.
For the price bracket of Rs. 7999/-, you have a strong 8 MP camera, a powerful chipset, quality 1.3 GHz MediaTek processor and an HD display.
The next thing worth mentioning is the 16 GB of internal space, only about 10 GB is available- even then this is a lot that many other similar budget phones do not have. 3 GB of this space is reserved for apps, but you can add in a 32 GB micro SD.
The response from the UI is very smooth, responsive and very fast as there is a 1 GB RAM. The 2000 mAh battery can last for a whole day based on the kind of usage that the XonPhone 5 is put under. http://www.oplustech.com/
