The School of Distance Learning, formerly the School of Correspondence Programs of Andhra University was established on 1st July 1972 to increase the access of higher learning for disadvantaged factors of society. Initially B.A. and B.Com. programs were provided with the assistance of UGC (University Grant Commission). Liberalised admission into B.A. / B.Com. Course under the open system was introduced in 1976. The Andhra University Distance Education is run by experienced teachers and educational administrators who always strive to gain high academic standards.
