Description: BHUTAN, LAND OF HAPPINESS TOUR Tentative day by day itinerary: Day 1 Arrival to Paro Activities for today: Representatives from Amedewa Tours & Trek will receive you with “Tashi Khada”, traditional way of receiving our guest.) Transfer to Thimphu by private tour SUV En route pass by Tamchog Lhakhang iron bridge. Thimphu Tashichho Dzong, a traditional fortress and Buddhist Monastery, is the largest in the city. Featuring distinctive Bhutanese architecture, using neither nails nor written plans, the structure serves as the current seat of the King of Bhutan and visit Buddha Dordenma Statue. In the evening you are free to stroll Thimphu town and visit farmhouse/homestay for dinner if interested. Day 2 Thimphu sightseeing Activities for today: Today after breakfast we will drive to the road end and start our hike to Tango and Cheri monastery. Approximately Tango is 1-2-hour hike and Cheri (opposite hill) is 45 min-1-hour hike. We will take packed lunch to have it on the way in a very scenic environment. The National Memorial Chorten was built in 1974 to honor the late King Jigme Dorji Wangchuck. A chorten is a hemispherical shaped memorial stupa. Known as the most visible religious landmark in Bhutan, it is used as a place of meditation. Visit Simply Bhutan Museum where giving good guided introduction to Bhutanese traditional life. Centenary Farmers’ Market is where most of the locals gather on the banks of the river every weekend. Villagers from the nearby valley come here to sell agricultural products and handmade crafts. Night halt at the Hotel/Resort. Day 3 Thimphu / Punakha Activities for today: After early breakfast, drive up to Dochu-la pass (3, 088m/ 10, 130 ft) stopping briefly here to take in the view and admire the chortens (108), prayer flags and mountain views. If skies are clear, the following peaks can be seen from this pass (left to right): Masagang (7, 158m), Tsendagang (6, 960m), Terigang (7, 060m ), Jejegangphugang (7, 158 m ), Kangphugang (7, 170 m ), Zongphugang (7, 060 m ), a table mountain that dominates the isolated region of Lunana – finally Gangkar puensum, the highest peak in Bhutan at 7, 497m. Continue onwards, reaching Punakha town in time for lunch. Visit Punaka Dzong and then suspension bridge and a short hike to the fertility temple :D Day 4 Punakha Activities for today: Punakha hiking and River Rafting/Full day hike A 45 min to 1-hour hike to Kamsumyulley Chorten to see amazing view of the chorten and also amazing view of Punakha Valley from the Chorten. Hear stories and historical background of the Chorten, offer your prayers and homage to the Chorten. We will then drive to visit Sangchen Dorji Lhuendrup Nunnery River rafting in the Mochu river and towards evening enjoy a pleasant river side view and complimentary fresh air to prepare for long drive next day  . Day 5 Paro Activities for today: Paro Valley - The beautiful valley is home to many of Bhutan’s old monasteries and temples. The country’s only Airport is in Paro. The valley is also home to mount Chomolhari (7, 300 meters) situated at the northern end of the valley whose glacier water forms the Pachu flowing through the valley. The following are some of the prominent places to visit in Paro. Paro Ringpung Dzong - this 15th century massive fortress/monastery, is also the administrative center of the dzonkhag. Ta Dzong- Built as a watch tower the Ta Dzong, it was converted into the National Museum in 1968. The museum boasts antique Thangka, textiles, weapons and armour, household objects and rich assortment of natural and historic artifacts. Day 6 Taktsang Monastery This morning, hike to visit Taktsang (Tiger's Nest), be amazed by the view of this sacred temple hanging on the rocky cliff, and take in the beauty of Paro valley. After that, move to the ruins of Drukgyel Dzong, built to commemorate Bhutan's victory over the Tibetan invaders. If in good weather, you'll see a great distant view of Mt. Chomolhari. After, if time permits, stroll Parotown. Visit Hotstone bath after the hike which is complimentary and relax.
