The MPhil in Creative and Cultural Entrepreneurship programme integrates entrepreneurship within the development of creative practices in order to develop new business/career ideas within the creative sector and to establish the infrastructure required to support new creative enterprises.
The programme is designed to allow students to continue to innovate, but also to provide the requisite business/entrepreneurial skills and attributes to commercialise on their creative and cultural practices and knowledge.
Students will be able to build on a historical and theoretical understanding of cultural and creative industries and the development of a cultural economy in order to create their own creative initiatives, which could be research-based, policy-based, practice-based, or a combination of any or all of these.
Students will also learn how to develop an independence and integrity in developing creative ideas to be underpinned by effective team-working, leadership and communication skills. They will also be able to apply entrepreneurial approaches to creative projects and demonstrate an understanding of different business models to establish a creative enterprise.
Applications are welcome from graduates from any discipline who wish to pursue a creative practice or build on their cultural knowledge and experience by applying entrepreneurial approaches to developing sustainable careers or enterprises.
The lecture hours for both full-time and part-time are the same. In year one, the part-time students must complete the 60 ECTS credits for taught modules. They then have the second year to complete their project/dissertation.
Full-time students must complete their projects/dissertations by September of the academic year they are registered for.
