Rajasthan mainly has 66 universities at present. These universities offer graduate, post graduate, professional and vocational courses in various streams. While most of the universities are members of the Association of Indian Universities. The Government of Rajasthan has put forward one more step for the betterment of educational infrastructure in the state. The Rajasthan Private University Act, 2005 has opened the gates for Self-Financed Universities to come here and set up their campuses.
JK Lakshmipat University (JKLU) has been set up under Rajasthan Private Universities Act by "Lakshmipat Singhania Foundation for Higher Learning" an SPV set up by the well-established Lakshmipat Singhania Education Foundation. Its core ideology, when it comes to education, is that it should be student centric. JKLU has adapted novel methods of handing over academic choice and freedom to chart unique paths, to the students themselves. University library is enriched with Books (Text & References) including Journals, magazines, Bound volumes of periodicals and gratis documents. It also has online databases (International/national) like EBSCOhost, SAGE Journals, IEEE Xpore, ProQuest, Prowess, IMF E-Library and E Journals & E Books like Springer, Wiley India, DOAJ, World Bank e-library. University library begins sharp at 9.00 am to till 11.00 pm. A residential campus, offers its students comforts of home while they work on their studies.
