The oldest national parks of India, Jim Corbett is located in the Kumaon region of Uttarakhand. The famous British hunter Jim Corbett made a good role to make this national park. It was established in the year 1936 as Haily national park, later its name was rechanged to Ramganga national park, in 1955 again it's renamed as Jim Corbett national park. It is home to the abundant population of endangered Asiatic elephants and other critically endangered species like Gharial.
