A piston accumulator is a hydraulic energy storage device that uses a floating piston inside a seamless cylinder to separate nitrogen gas and hydraulic fluid. When hydraulic pressure increases, fluid enters the accumulator and compresses the gas. When pressure drops, the compressed gas pushes the piston back, releasing fluid into the system to maintain pressure and flow.
