The maximum elevation of the trek is 11,675 ft and the total distance to be covered during the trek is 47 km. Har Ki Dun is a must-do trek, whose base camp is a tiny village Sankri. You can also start your trek from Taluka, which is 18-20 km away from Sankri.

Best time to do the trek-
If you can’t bear the cold, Pre Monsoon (The days between April to June) and post-monsoon ( The days between September to December) are considered the ideal time to do Har Ki Doon trek. The weather is pleasant at this time and there is no fog, which lets the skies remain clear most of the time. During these months, temperatures are ranging somewhere between 10-degree celsius to 20 degrees celsius.
If you love snow and are daring enough to bear the unbearable cold at the summit, you should do this trek in winter (from November to February), when serenity and solitude appear at its best.
Temperature- 2-degree Celsius to -10 degree celsius
In Monsoon season, the trails become slippery which makes the trek impossible to do. Routes to the top are blocked but if somehow, you get there, you will witness the best version of Har Ki Dun.
