What is the use of gears and shafts?

Depends on its use there are several types of gears some of them are mentioned below.
• Spur Gear: These are the most common types of gear. Use to transfer the energy from one shaft to another that are placed parallel to each other.
• Helical Gears: It is the modified version of spur gear and it is designed to lower the noise.
Bevel Gears: Bevel gears are used at the place where both the shafts are on the different axis, and the motion is required to transmit on different axis
